Closing Stellar Needlecraft
First, I would like to say thank you for being a newsletter subscriber and supporting my small business these past 6 years.
After much thought and consideration, I have come to the difficult decision to close Stellar Needlecraft. I have had fun dyeing yarn and fiber and sewing bags for you. However, after 6 years, the business has become a major source of stress and is not financially sustainable.
To help support the closure of the business, all orders are 25% off, the price will reflect in your cart. This will stack on any other discounts already in place. Depending on inventory levels, I may increase the discount later.
I want to be open and honest about my decision with all of you. Please continue reading if you want to know why I made this decision.
The rising costs of everything the past several years has, unfortunately like many others, caused my business to start costing money instead of making. Unfortunately, I have taken on a lot of debt to keep open. Sales have been beyond slow. I know I am not the only indie dyer who has felt this.
Somewhere along the way, I have lost most of my joy and love for the fiber crafts. I feel turning my hobbies has turned them into an obligation instead of a way to relax and create and just enjoy. To be truthful, I'm sick and tired of all my projects having to be shop samples. I feel guilty if I'm not working on a sample.
You may not know, but I also have a full-time job in the retail sector. I am on my feet for 8 hours a day, then I was dyeing or sewing in the evenings and on weekends. This has left no personal time for me to relax and recuperate. All my PTO for the past several years has been used for Stellar Needlecraft or illness. This decision will let my spouse and I plan time off together and actual vacations.
These are the main reasons for closing. I could list several years, but don't want this to become too long.
Again, thank you so much for your support over the past several years.
